Role Purpose

To act as a strategic partner in implementing HR strategies, ensuring talent acquisition, driving employee engagement, and fostering a positive and productive work environment across the retail cluster.


Main Responsibilities

  1. Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning:

    • Develop and execute effective recruitment strategies, alternate channels, and employer branding initiatives to attract top talent.
    • Conduct workforce planning, manpower forecasting, and ensure optimal staffing levels across the retail cluster.
    • Manage the end-to-end recruitment and selection process in line with SOPs and AOP.
  2. Employee Engagement & Retention:

    • Implement employee engagement programs and rewards and recognition initiatives.
    • Develop and implement retention strategies by analyzing attrition data and employee feedback.
    • Foster a positive work culture to enhance employee satisfaction and retention.
  3. Training & Development:

    • Collaborate with the L&D team to identify training needs, create learning plans, and drive talent development initiatives.
  4. Compensation & Compliance:

    • Analyze compensation structures, monitor market trends, and recommend appropriate compensation strategies.
    • Ensure compliance with labor laws, statutory obligations (PF, Gratuity), and HR audits.
  5. HR Operations & Reporting:

    • Maintain accurate employee data and generate MIS reports to support data-driven decision-making.
    • Address employee grievances and queries, ensuring timely resolutions as per SLAs.

Educational Qualifications

  • Graduate in HR or equivalent
  • MBA in HR or a related field

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in HR, preferably in the retail or fashion industry, managing cluster-level operations.
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws, statutory compliance, and HR best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive organizational change and foster a positive work culture.

Role Purpose (Why Position Exists)

To act as an OTB Planner by developing competitive and sustainable category strategies for profitable growth and creating a framework for smooth category operations to maximize merchandising efficiency.


Primary Responsibilities

  1. Conduct customer demand analysis and market trend studies to align merchandise buying with company goals and financial budgets for all categories.
  2. Source new merchandise and review existing items to ensure product competitiveness, staying updated with market trends, and responding to changes in demand.
  3. Understand customer needs across all categories, maximize profits, and provide a commercially viable merchandise range at competitive prices.
  4. Derive business strategies through consumer buying pattern analysis and predict future trends in collaboration with core teams.
  5. Develop and approve purchase plans in advance to address festival, occasion, and seasonal needs while coordinating with the planning team.
  6. Monitor and review performance indicators like sales and discount levels, ensuring optimal stock levels across all categories.
  7. Act as an escalation point for supplier relations, lead negotiations, and maintain relationships with existing suppliers while sourcing new ones.
  8. Oversee business sales and margin delivery, ensuring top-line and bottom-line targets are achieved alongside effective working capital management.
  9. Validate strategic sourcing (domestic and imported) and ensure timely merchandise delivery and availability at stores.
  10. Develop and execute category assortment and promotion strategies, review category potential, and analyze consumption patterns.
  11. Conduct Mystery Shopping at least twice a month to assess customer needs, competitor products, footfall, and merchandising display impact on sales, and provide feedback to the Planning and VM teams.
  12. Plan product assortments and introduce new products quarterly for all categories.
  13. Introduce at least one new supplier annually and implement the “City Buyer” concept to minimize operational costs.
  14. Monitor costs and expenses to assist in budget preparation and control OPEX costs.
  15. Formulate and implement strategies to improve bottom-line efficiency with a focus on penalties and operational costs.
  16. Foster a performance-driven culture through regular performance reviews, feedback, and talent development initiatives.
  17. Actively participate in HR initiatives to drive employee engagement and motivation.

Educational Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • MBA in Retail Management or Master’s in Fashion Management is preferred

Desired Experience

  • At least 10 years of relevant experience in retail business management, including retail planning, market research, strategy development, and providing actionable insights to maximize operational efficiency.
