The ASPIRATIONS OF RYDAK

The ASPIRATIONS OF RYDAK

We, at Rydak Syndicate Ltd., are involved in the business of producing black tea from our own tea gardens located in Assam and North Bengal, with manufacturing units situated within each estate. We are known to be premium producers of black tea. Rydak Syndicate manages 6 estates at present. These gardens were established by the British planters over a century ago.

I took charge as the head of this organization in March 2019, after serving for 24 years in different plantations and gathering much needed experience to supervise the functioning of the tea gardens. While working in the gardens, one not only learns field cultivation practices but also gathers expertise on man management, administration, accounting, etc. It’s a job for all-rounders. Fortunately, I have a very dedicated team working with me upcountry and also at the corporate office in Kolkata. Experienced CFOs, staff and secretaries ensure smooth functioning of our company.

Working in ‘the gardens’ is like a way of life- complete with where we support a huge range of flora and fauna of the region whose cultivation is looked after by the local tribals, adding that extra flavour to your cup of tea. The work we are doing at present on the field is a part of our long-term planning & strategy- keeping in mind the sustainability issues and common goals of the company. We have the potential to grow at a much higher rate than the normal industrial rates, and we hope in the next three to four years, we will be able to capture a much bigger share of the market. Being producers of best teas in the country, we intend to explore world niche markets and expand our international presence. Our young and energetic marketing and sales team is dedicated to this cause. Our production levels are expected to go up to 7 million kgs, with a  sustained focus on improved productivity and yield.

Going by the present trend, we have initiated atomization in our estates, which will keep us above the viable limits of the business. We have plans of diversification into engineering, tourism and agrochemicals. Packet tea is another area which has huge scope of work and we have already taken baby steps towards this direction. We welcome young talent in our group who believe in good ethical work standards and can contribute to the growth of the company.  Recently, we have taken up the huge task of restructuring the entire working of the company by incorporating new technology to improve the productivity of the employees and implement better compensation policies. We hope to make this place the most favoured company for the job seekers.

I duly hope and endeavour to deliver in line with the vision of our Board, without compromising the values of our company.

Rajvinder Singh,

Whole-Time Director
